Electrohomeopathy is derived from homeopathy and was invented in the 19th century. It was invented by Count Cesare Mattei. It is not regarded as pure science and is sometimes referred to as pseudoscience like all homeopathy. There has been a lot of speculation about the use of electro-homeopathy since its conception. It was quite popular alternative medicine in the 19th century but has decreased in credibility ever since. Nevertheless, in developing countries such as India, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, etc., there are a lot of people who believe homeopathy and all its derivates to work. In fact, there are a lot of homeopathy clinics in such countries and the homeopathy industry is still booming there. Electrohomeopathy is practiced predominantly in India and Pakistan. Electrohomeopathy could supposedly even cure cancer, although there isn’t much scientific evidence to back up such claims.
In India, there are a lot of colleges offering this course. It is generally defined as electro-homeopathy or electropathy maintains homeostasis between the lymph and blood of deceased persons, and thus cures them. Many students are interested in this course and the popularity of the course in India seems only to get higher. Although many colleges offer the course, there are certain colleges that a student wishes for due to their high quality of teaching and for better job opportunities as in any field.
The general requirement to get into an electro-homeopathy course is the completion of class 10 for a diploma (DEHM) and completion of 10+2 for a bachelor’s course. Some colleges even offer an MD in electro-homeopathy. All these courses are recognized by the National Electro Homeo Medicos of India (NEHM of India) under the authority from the Ministry of Health and F.W. Govt. of India. It is important to understand that UGC or MCI or any other affiliating agency doesn’t consider or recognize the degrees in electro homeopathy.
Many institutes offer this course and each of them has its regulation and way of selection. It is important for an aspiring student in electro homeopathy to go through all the criteria through the college website. Electropathy graduates will generally have to work with the poorer sections of the country as the rich generally go for other medicine such as Allopathic medicine. One can set up their own clinics anywhere after completion of M.D. Graduates can go on to teaching or research after their degree.
Some of the popular institutes offering the course are Balaji Med. Institute of Electropathy, Awadh Med. Institute of Electropathy, Prem Medical Institute of Electropathy, Vipin Memorial Med. Institute of Electropathy, M.K. Med. Institute of electropathy. Due to the prevalent belief in electro-homeopathy among Indians, the field is still very profitable and many graduates are still taking up new jobs and setting up clinics and get a lot of patients interested in this form of alternative medicine. The pay might not be as high as allopathic jobs but there are good signs for the field.
