TS PGECET

The Telangana State Post Graduation Engineering Common Entrance Test is a test conducted by the State of Telangana into PG courses in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Graduate level Pharm-D conducted by Osmania University on behalf of the Telangana Government for admission in Masters Programs in Universities all over Telangana. Osmania University is one of the oldest universities in the country, established in 1918 by the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad.
The paper is conducted by Osmania University and has test centers in all 5 zones of Hyderabad. It is a computer-based test, with multiple-choice questions. They have 17 different papers based on the discipline or specialization you have taken during graduation.

TEST DETAILS:

TS PGECET is a Computer Based Test (CBT). There are 120 questions from the field of your choice that you graduated in and want to pursue Masters in. The maximum marks are 120, +1 for each question, and no negative marking. The syllabus is that of what you learned during graduation in the subject you have chosen.
Universities offer ME, M.Tech, M.Pharmacy, M.Arch, and Pharm-D (Post Baccalaureate) programs through this test.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. The candidate should be of Indian Nationality.
  2. The candidate should belong to the State of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh.
  3. The candidate should satisfy the local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the regulations of admission.
  4. Candidate should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination.
  5. There is no upper age limit for a candidate, given that he/she is self-financed. The fee reimbursement for SC/ST/OBC students is done until they are 34 years old, and Minorities/Disabled/EBC is till 30 years of age.
    Candidates who have qualified GATE/GPAT are exempted from this examination. Universities give them preference. Once the seats are filled by GATE qualifiers, then the students who have qualified TS PGECET are assigned seats.

DATES:

  • Registrations are from March 13th to April 30th, 2020
  • Registration with late fee is till May 25th, 2020
  • Hall Ticket Available from 22nd to May 27th, 2020
  • Exams will take place from May 28th to May 31st, 2020 and results on June 10th, 2020
  • Counseling begins in July 2020.
  • The registration fee for General Category students is 1000 INR, and Reserved Categories is 500 INR. The application and registration are done online through their official website, and payment of fee can be done by Credit Card/ Debit Card or Net banking.


RESERVATION:

General Category students have to score a minimum of 25% marks in TG PGECET. There is no such minimum cut off for reserved category students, and colleges release their merit list based on their reservation percentages. Cutoffs are released based on average marks, the number of students participating and branches available.
