The Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship was initiated in the year 2015 by the Kerala State Welfare Commission to provide financial help to backward unreserved categories of the State. The economically backward sections of the forward communities are the main benefactors of the scholarship. The main aim of the scholarship is to empower the progressive community, which does not have any reservations. The Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship is provided as an education scholarship as well as competitive coaching assistance. Applicants for the scholarship are eligible only if they are from the non-reservation progressive community. It is compulsory that they must be a resident of Kerala. The annual income of the applicant’s family should be less than two lakhs based on all sources of revenue. If the applicant has applied for financial aid in the previous year, then they are not eligible to apply for the current year. The requisite applications are accepted only online. Applicants are also required to have a bank account in any recognized bank.
The applicants can submit the online form for the scholarship on the Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forwarding Community’s official web portal. They must then choose the appropriate fellowship link and then fill out the online form The applicants must then upload the following documents in digital format Aadhar card photocopy Photocopy of SSLC mark list Original income certificate Photocopy of the 1st page of passbook in applicants (should have details such as account number, name, Address, IFSC Code, etc.) Institution certificate.
The candidates must submit the Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship form along with the requisite documents on or before the third week of November 2020 AWARDS The Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship is awarded to 34000 students across schools (both high school and higher secondary schools), 6000 graduate students (professional and non-professional), 2917 postgraduate students (professional and non-professional), 1000 candidates in the diploma/certificate category and 120 candidates studying across national universities (NIT, IIT, etc.). They are granted an amount of Rs 15000 for preliminary, Rs 25000 for the main exam, and Rs 30000 for the interview round.
