York College in Pennsylvania is a private, not-for-profit college. It is a 4-year college situated in South-Central Pennsylvania. It offers more than 50 different majors sciences, arts, and professional programs. Furthermore, it provides excellent master’s programs in nursing, business, education, and also a doctoral program in nursing. It currently tutors a little over 5600 students with a 45% admission rate.

According to data from the last few years, 99% are known to have gotten some aid. Average student aid stands at $5,543 for the academic year 2016-17.


The student to faculty ratio at York is 15:1. Most of the classes have fewer than 20 students. The most renowned majors here are marketing, law, business, management, journalism, homeland security, health professions, and related programs.  The average freshman retention rate is about 78 percent. The college also boasts a 90% plus placement rate.


The college has three adjacent campuses namely North, West, and Main campus; but the majority of the academic classes take place on the main campus only. Although the college first opened in 1770, all the buildings are less than 60 years old, being built in the 1950s. Hence the students don’t have to compromise in infrastructure and can avail all the faculties available without any hindrance. The 190-acre main campus is the highlight of the entire college. Dorm life varies depending on what part of campus you’re living in. Considering the freshman dorms, they’re made to help individuals grow individually and construct relationships with other students who are from culturally various backgrounds and nationalities.
